Lectures and workshops on a variety of topics are available for astrological groups and general audiences. The following are topics that have been presented at John F. Kennedy University, the First and Second International Cycles and Symbols Conferences, the National Council for Geocosmic Research Education Conference, the East Bay Astrology Group, and the South Bay Astrological Society. Lectures and workshops can be tailored to your group.
Archetypal Astrology: Professional Applications The archetypes of astrology describe a universal developmental cycle which can be used in many different ways. This lecture explores how astrology can be used as a diagnostic and healing tool for therapists, career counselors, educators and others in the service and helping professions.
The Client-Counselor Relationship Any consultation is a potential learning experience for the counselor as well as the client. By examining our own charts and the synastry with our clients', we gain valuable insight into interpersonal dynamics. This lecture explores astrological indicators of unconscious material, and how to facilitate growth for both ourselves and our clients.
Astrology as a Healing Art. To heal means to make whole, and Astrology, through its language of archetypal cycles and symbols, facilitates this process of self-discovery and integration. In this lecture we will discuss some of the essential components of healing and how the study of astrology facilitates self-discovery and self-transformation.
Synastry and Synergy: The Alchemy of Relationship. Astrological archetypes provide a powerful language for describing relationship dynamics. In this lecture we will examine indicators of attraction and compatibility, techniques for identifying the impact and needs of a relationship, and how to use any relationship for personal growth.
Discovering Our Life Path: Astrology provides a language and map for the journey of individuation. The Sun, Ascendant and Lunar Nodes in particular provide powerful markers and profound insights into the big questions of our lives---who am I and why am I here. This lecture will discuss how to use these three symbols as signposts for the way "Home".
Turning Points in the Journey: Transits and progressions mediate the unfolding of the birthchart. They indicate when and which areas of our lives are up for renovation. This lecture discusses these specific developmental challenges, the questions we need to be asking ourselves at different stages, and how we can turn crises into opportunities for growth.
Planets and Aspects: Planets symbolize the different components of our psyche; aspects the relationship and energy needed to integrate them. Using a combination of lecture and astrodrama, we will learn how to recognize and honor conflicting wants and needs, and how to more fully utilize our strengths and potentials.
Transpersonal Astrology: Focusing on potentials and purpose, rather than predictions and stereotypes, a transpersonal perspective aids us in discovering our strengths, mastering our challenges, and creating a truly satisfying and meaningful life. This lecture will discuss astrology as a powerful tool for intuitive development and personal/spiritual growth.
Sign of the Month: Each sign, house and planet in astrology shares a common theme and functions as a part of a universal cycle of development. In this lecture we will discuss the myths, symbols and psychology of one of the signs of the zodiac, its ruling planet, and corresponding house, from both an archetypal and a personal point of view.
